I'm a huge fan of online savings accounts — they've actually changed my money outlook — and I'm at the point where I'm going to move my savings around to the highest bidder.
Obviously, choice is one of the greatest opportunities afforded by the Internet, and the variety of online savings accounts allows anyone to make the most with their money.
Today I stumbled upon E-Loan's new 5.50% APY online savings account, and my plan is to sign up tonight and go with them for a bit. I'm currently using HSBC's 5.05% account — for some reason my Emigrant Direct signup never happened — but a bump of .45% in my rate is great.
The only catch, per se, is that the account requires a minimum of $5,000, which some of the other accounts don't. I'll post an update to report how it is.
