This is fairly lucky, I'd say. Last Tuesday night, the wife and I went out for Chinese food. Last Thursday morning, right before we went to hit the road for a long weekend, I filled up on gas … without my trusty check card.
When I got to work that morning, I logged onto my online banking and saw that it hadn't been used since our Chinese dinner.
I gave them a call when they opened, and sure enough, they had the card. But since we were heading out of town right after work and not coming back until late Sunday night, I couldn't pick it up until Mon ay.
Last night, I picked up the card — and breathed a major sigh of relief.
I'm a big advocate of using plastic instead of cash, especially for tracking our bills. So spending the weekend without the card was a little nerve-wracking, but thankfully, it all worked out.
