It's no question that I'm a fan of online banking, especially considering how brick and mortar banks treat their customers.
One of the reasons, it seems, more people are hesitant to jump into online banking is the safety issue.
During the Super Bowl last night, E-Trade ran a commercial depicting a bank robbery.
The robbers had masks, bags (no dollar signs though) and all the standard jargon ("Lady, don't be a hero.").
Except that the robbers weren't who you would expect. It was the tellers, manager and even the security guard.
I've just had my first post ever accepted (well, it was my first submitted) into a blog carnival, namely the Carnival of Personal Finance. This week, it's being hosted at The Simple Dollar.
For the carnival, I submitted the 5 Ways Online Bill Pay Saves You Money.
You can find the best stuff on craigslist. I'm in the middle of getting rid of a sofa — giving it up for free as long as someone will move it — and realized that a lot of the freebies are great blog fodder.

The past few years have seen a revolution, if you will, in the way consumers rent movies. Driving to Blockbuster or the local Mom-n-Pop shop was the only option until NetFlix came along.
I've never subscribed to an online movie rental service, but Sound Money Tips has a nice review of the best options.
So maybe there is a chink in the shining armor of E-Loan.
The company, which opened up an online savings account offering 5.50% APY that later fell to 5.38%, has lowered the APY again, this time to 5.25%.
Understandable, but couldn't they at least let us customers know?
I've been meaning to look into online checking accounts, since I've already got quite a few online savings accounts and know the benefits of online bill pay.
So what just landed in my inbox? A new checking account program from the folks at ING Direct (open a savings account and get $25 free now) called Electric Orange.
Not all freebies are created equal. Unfortunately, sometimes we fail to recognize the not-so-free freebies on the Internet like we would on an infomercial.
Case in point: the recent Xerox printer, copier and scanner I was recently offered … for FREE*.
