ING Direct is giving away $10,000 to the winner of their Adventures on the Road to Happiness contest, as well as 25 winners of $1,000.
To enter, you need to send in a story about your "ultimate savings goal" and what you are doing to reach it. You also need to include a photo of what "happiness means to you" and make sure you include the color orange.
If you've already reached your savings goal, you can still enter — just share how you achieved your goal.
Send in your entries by August 31 to qualify.
The winners will receive their prizes as deposits in their Orange Savings Account.
You have to give ING credit for encouraging people to save. They're one company that really seems to be interested in working for the consumer's benefit.
They may not have the highest rates any more, but by adding new products like business savings and the Electric Orange checking, they're constantly testing out new markets and improving consumers' savings habits.
